wow. lots has happened!!!!!

so this past weekend i had jason of norope.com in to clean lines and climb. we had a great time and cleaned a lot of stuff. too bad not much went!!! but there was one first ascent this weekend. i was able to send one of the slopey projects on the big bloc. its named "the pentagon" after the pentagon looking foot hold you start on. its a really fun line thats tall and beautiful. it looks like this

thats brannon working "the pentagon" a week or so ago. good times.

so after jason, scott, mike and i had our fill of climbing on friday, we went to daikoku for sushi and i about killed someone. we waited FOREVER for our food. granted it was really good, it just took an hour and a half to get. i forgive you daikoku, but dont let it happen again.

saturday morning jen and her friends jimmy and john came in from maryland and sean AKA niceporch came in from pennsylvania and we had a grand old time. so it was the four of them, me, jason, scott, and mike. WOW a posse for sure. so we warmed up for a while at tilted tree. jason got frustrated that his arete line wasnt clean and threw a fit (not really) and we decided to move on to something else. we looked at this arete and decided to clean/climb it. no worries. two sends and counting.....till jen fell and rolled her ankle. "im fine!!!!" she says as she tries to bear weight and falls. so we help jen around all day. she hung out and watched even with a broke ankle. later she went home to find out it was BROKEN. crap, what a trooper!

then sunday i didnt climb because my fingers were toast. i walked around for a while and took some pictures and i caught this one of drew on roundhouse:

great problem.

so that was my weekend. today i got out and cleaned off a new lip traverse, but i didnt get on it. it needs a little more cleaning and some people with gusto and balls to get on it. it doesnt look that hard, just kinda sketchy with the bad landing and all. but thats what makes it interesting!!!

anyways, hopefully get out there tomorrow....

so its been about a week since i updated. this is whats been happening. last week was pretty crappy weather wise, but friday it took a turn for the better and was gorgeous. some folks went out to coopers friday and worked a bunch of stuff at the lower rock city area.

this is ryan making easy work of the long roof. we warmed up there and then went on to do the tomb raider roof, and worked on the new projects which look like this:

and

both are really difficult, but super fun. young sent a variation to the first one and its called "still life." i worked the first one for a while with no avial, but i was able to work out all my beta, so all i have to do is put it together. we also worked roundhouse (a coopers classic) and myxamotosis, the super long pumpy traverse/highball on the big bloc.

and then i went home for easter. when i came back, this is what i found.

wtf??!?!?!
i hate rain. so now we have to wait again for it all to dry out. hopefully it will be dry by this weekend, i plan to climb my tips off.

Took Scott to Coopers today. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed it, the short time we were there. We took some pictures and here's how they turned out:

I think thats going to be it for today. We are going again on Wed. and I will probably have more pictures then. Have a great rest of your Monday.

Now that the weekend is over, I have time to settle down and add something to my journal.
Friday: got drunk with friends.
Saturday: trip to Cooper's expecting nothing but wet rock but instead getting to climb and work some hard lines!!!
Sunday: cleaned EVERYTHING in the house (almost) and did some grocery shopping.

Sounds un eventful, but it was overall a pretty great weekend. I was very excited to get out to Cooper's Rock. Tomorrow I'm going out there again with Scott. It's his first time there, so it should be a blast.

Here's a couple of photos from me and Dariens Saturday trip to Cooper's:
